Once a couple has decided to get a divorce, the most important question becomes: which divorce process will best meet our needs (and those of our children) moving forward ?
A great overview of three ways to move forward in seeking a divorce is provided in DivorceMagazine.com. Here is our take on the most common divorce options:
Unless you or a close friend or family member has been divorced recently, you may not know that, whether you choose to litigate through an attorney or try doing it yourself, you and your spouse will almost certainly be sent to mediation by the Court anyway. Through our pre-suit, pro se Divorce Mediation process, you get the benefits of mediation combined with substantially lower expense than litigation (or collaborative divorce, discussed in the article above), either because you do not need an attorney or you are just consulting with an attorney, once or twice. Our Tampa Friendly Divorce team has the experience and tools to help you include and define the details of your Marital Settlement Agreement; if you do it yourself, your agreement may not reflect sufficient detail about possible future changes to avoid (or limit) future conflicts between you and your spouse post-divorce.
Tampa Friendly Divorce is a Mediation service, but we also offer non-mediation Document Preparation services. Our most popular package is the Full Service Package, which includes up to 6 hours of mediation and document drafting related to the Marital Settlement Agreement, and, as appropriate, Parenting Plan and Child Support Guidelines Worksheet – if a deal is reached on these key documents, then, after the mediation is completed, we also complete the necessary standard paperwork to get you in front of a judge for your uncontested divorce – all for the same Full Service Package price.
